Description of the Product

Bakelized laminates are grouped into two major categories: bakelized paper and bakelized canvas.

Bakelized paper

It is available in sheets of the following sizes:
- 2200x1220mm or 2440x1220 from 0.5 to 3mm thick
- 3050x1300 from 4 to 20mm thickness
- 2050x1050 or 2200x1220 from 30mm to 50mm thick.

These sheets are produced in thicknesses varying from 0.5 to 50 mm; up to 2 mm it is possible to cold or hot cut the panels depending on the type so as to obtain products of particular shapes to be used as electrical insulation in electrical and electronic sectors. Higher thicknesses, on the other hand, continue to maintain their dielectric function but find better application in the supports of electrical panels, spacers, separators and covers.

Regardless of the electrical prerogatives of bakelized paper, it is also used in the work surfaces of operating machines thanks to its mechanical strength, flatness and dimensional stability.

Here are all the types:

·         Bakelized paper laminate - available in different colors, Class E (120°C), mainly used in the electromechanical sector. Coiled tubes are also available on request
·         Bakelized paper AT High voltage - is a laminate suitable to satisfy the technical requirements of F.S., Navy, Air Force and for electrical transformers thanks to its inalterability in hot oil.
·         AF High Frequency Bakelized Paper - it is a shearable paper based on alpha cellulose and phenolic resin; it has high dielectric properties even in humid environment and it is particularly suitable for audio visual and telephony sector.

Bakelized canvas

It is available in the following sizes:
 mm 1220x1220,  mm 1220x2200, mm 1220x2440, mm 2050x1050,
the range of thicknesses varies from mm 0,5 to 120.

Compared to the previous one, the canvas has better mechanical characteristics; in fact, for thicknesses up to 3 mm it is particularly elastic and easily sheared. From the dielectric point of view, it is less performing and therefore finds greater application in situations where elasticity and mechanical characteristics are essential.

It is also equipped with a good self-lubricating capacity: small thicknesses are widely used to make support washers for small electric motors, washers for motor shafts and insulators with high bending stress.

Thicker gauges, on the other hand, are used in blades for centrifugal vacuum pumps, gaskets for connecting metal pipes, sealing rings for pistons in hydraulic systems, sliding guides, and rolling mill floors.

The most prestigious use, however, is in the production of resistant, self-lubricating and, above all, silent gears as well as for the production of components such as: silent gears, camshafts, clutch discs, bushings, bearings, blades for decompressors, other various details for all industrial sectors.

On request it is possible to supply strips and plates cut to size.

On order it is also possible to have: tubes wrapped in bakelite cloth, sticks wrapped in bakelite cloth, sheets of bakelite cloth.
